WHO Who are you people?
open-rsc represents a diverse group of individuals who are all interested in an open, fair and technically sound global DNS.

WHAT What IS open-rsc?
It's a process whereby administration of critical portions of the Internet infrastructure are managed

WHEN What is the timeline?
The group began discussion in the summer of 1997 and was coalesced by the US Governments NTIA DNS initiative. This enabled all of us to "find" each other by the realization than many poeple all had, more or less the same views. The future timeframe really depends on what happens now between the various factions in the TLD arena, and the outcome of the discussion process initiated by Ira Magaziners Green Paper discussion draft on the domain name system.

WHERE Where are you people?
All over. While a few of us have met face-to-face, all our work is carried out exclusively on the Internet.

WHY Why are you doing this?
Because we believe the evolution of the Internet's Domain Name System must be an organic growth from the "bottom up" free of intergovernmental agencies and that, with "rough consensus and running code" we can offer a better alternative to the current state of affairs.
